Muhammad Considering Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, Arizona, Kansas, UNLV

Dec 22, 2011 3:43 PM

Shabazz Muhammad is looking at Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, Arizona, Kansas and UNLV.

USC, the alma mater of Muhammad’s father, Ron Holmes, is apparently out, as is Texas A&M.

“I narrowed my list down actually to six,” he said at the City of Palms Classic. “I think it was a good thing for me to narrow them down to six because a lot of schools were calling that I wasn’t really interested in. So now I can stay grounded on the court and get ready and go through the season.”

Solomon Hill Carrying Bigger Load For Arizona

Dec 7, 2011 12:59 PM

Arizona's Solomon Hill has come on strong over the past six games, with statistical averages that are 50 percent higher than last season.

Hill was named the Pac-12's Player of the Week.

“I joke with (guard Kyle) Fogg, saying that him shooting helps my assist-to-turnover ratio,” Hill said. “Once he stops shooting or starts up-faking or dribbling it, it kind of takes my assists away.”

“He does a lot of good things for us,” head coach Sean Miller said. “It’s just important for him that he stays humble, that he stays hungry, and that he keeps working and that’s what got him to where he is now. To me, this is nothing more than a good start.”

Hill has played more minutes at power forward to help replace Derrick Williams and he is also trying to be more of a leader.

“He knows our system inside and out,” Miller said. “Once in a while his intelligence can actually backfire on him because he’ll deviate from the plan.”

Dec 5, 2011 7:46 PM

Sidiki Johnson "has left the (Arizona) program with the intention of transferring to another institution."

Johnson is likely to end up somewhere closer to his native Bronx.

Johnson stayed in the area after Arizona played in New York City two weeks ago and was promptly placed on indefinite suspension three days later.
